A great opportunity has arisen to work as a Driver Manager at Merseyrail.

As a Driver Manager, you will be responsible for developing and leading a team of train drivers in ensuring operational safety whilst directly impacting and improving train performance working with our new fleet of Class 777 trains.

To be considered for the role, you will need a minimum of four years continuous and recent train driving experience (ETDL regulations), a thorough knowledge of operational rules and regulations and an understanding of managing safety and quality standards. You will need to be comfortable in assessing driving competence, updating route risk and safety information, and developing driver training.

A successful candidate will have to demonstrate leadership and motivational skills and be inspiring to others within their team. Having the drive and determination to deliver business objectives in a demanding operational environment is also essential. You will need excellent communication skills and you must be able to liaise with several stakeholders across the business.

Naturally, you will have a strong understanding of the rules, regulations; safety and quality standards associated with train driving and possess attention to detail skills and have a good understanding of non-technical skills and how these affect a person’s performance.

The role involves shift work; therefore, it is important that you hold a full driving licence.

Successful candidates may be invited to complete an online assessment and attend a competency-based interview.
