Reporting into the Head of Marketing & Revenue Growth, an exciting position has arisen for a Marketing Manager to join Merseyrail’s busy marketing team where they will develop and deliver the marketing strategies for revenue growth

  • Lead on the planning, delivery and measurement of campaign activity including all media planning and buying.
  •  Lead on generating revenue growth from new initiatives by identifying, targeting and measuring new opportunities.
  • Lead on partnership activity including negotiating partnership and sponsorship agreements, ensuring they are delivered in full, and that relationships are maintained.
  • Deliver marketing activity for smart ticketing and the new state-of-the-art fleet of trains.
  • Contribute to the research strategy and ensure all marketing activity is informed by insights.

This role will provide a marketing support to other functions within Merseyrail, including leading on the creation and implementation of the Mtogo marketing strategy for Merseyrail’s chain of convenience stores within selected stations.

The Marketing Manager will be responsible for the continuous measurement and evaluation of marketing activities, ensuring that the budget is optimised and spend delivers return on investment.

The ideal candidate should have the following skills and experience:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of marketing experience
  • The tenacity and drive to lead multiple projects at once from definition through to delivery
  • The ability to work cross-functionally and influence other areas of the business, partners and stakeholders
  • Strategic and analytical skills to make informed decisions, evaluate performance and return on investment
