A fantastic opportunity is now available to join our Project and Business Analysis team at Abellio Shared Services in the centre of Glasgow. The Role:

Working within our Project and Business Analysis team we are looking for someone who can confidently engage with stakeholders on all levels, both internal, and external. We are looking for someone who can bridge the gap between technical, and non-technical users, collaborating with stakeholders to define & continuously improve our business systems and processes.

You should have:

  • Business analysis skills including, identifying, and analysing options, developing functional specifications, creating user case scenarios & developing test cases
  • Experience in producing business process mapping and analysis to evaluate and re-engineer processes to increase efficiency using tools such as Visio and standardised methodologies such as BPMN.
  • An understanding of the concepts behind database management, including experience of designing relational models.  
  • A high degree of computer literacy including advanced understanding of excel including complex formula.
  • Understanding of computer programming fundamentals, i.e., data types, data structures, and control flow. Prior knowledge of programming would be desirable i.e., java, Python or R.
  • Software development experience; validating requirements, writing acceptance criteria, and testing. Can raise defects, along with clear steps to recreate, and can re-test defects.
  • Understanding of Relational Databases principles such as SQL, and Data Warehousing processes such as ETL.
  • Experience in CRM development, such as Salesforce, and identifying automation opportunities.

If you also have the following this would be a bonus. If you don’t, it won’t stop us considering your application.  

  • Rail, or Transport Industry knowledge of industry metrics and schemes such as Delay Repay.
  • Outsourcing/ BPO knowledge from a managed, or shared service centre background, and metrics such as Service Levels, Average Handling Times, Quality.
  • Knowledge of Complaint Handling procedures in a regulated environment.
  • Understanding of project management methodologies. i.e., Prince2/ PMBOK, from business case creation to project delivery
