We have a fantastic leadership opportunity for a Deputy Station Manager. Although the position is based at London Liverpool Street, you will also be at Stratford Station when required.

The Role

By reporting into and deputising for the Station Manager, as well as working with the Operational Delivery Manager, you will play a key part in Greater Anglia’s management of London Liverpool Street and Stratford Stations. You will be responsible for a team of Shift Managers, and look after a team overseeing circa 80 colleagues, including some of the main customer experience touch points at Liverpool Street including the Customer Information Point, The Gateline and The Ticket Office.

The primary focus of this role is to oversee the key Retail and Customer Experience delivery within London Liverpool Street and Stratford. This will include colleague recruitment, training, safety management systems, absence and performance management to name a few of the key deliverables.

You will also play a core part in the future strategy of Greater Anglia at working collaboratively with our industry partners such as Network Rail and support the Station Manager on an integrated collaborative approach to your role at Liverpool Street.

The successful colleague will be responsible in the management of our key stations with regards to the following:

  • Oversee the effective management of core Retail Teams at London Liverpool Street in line with the GA future strategy of customer experience delivery.  
  • Support stakeholder collaboration with our industry partners at both London Liverpool Street and Stratford.
  • Spearhead and lead colleague engagement working groups to ensure continuous engagement, improvement and consideration of the overall GA Diversity & Inclusion Strategy as you execute your role.
  • Lead the recruitment strategy for the area under direction of the Station Manager to ensure continuous improvement, diversity and inclusion are at the heart of the areas recruitment and progression strategy.
  • Effective management of people management processes such as absence management, poor performance and other people processes as required.
  • Being a leading face of Greater Anglia within London and supporting the business at meet the managers and other key stakeholder events as required.
  • Have a working knowledge of and involvement within the Train Dispatch Operation as required and working with the Operational Delivery Manager where required.
  • In the absence of the Station Manager to deputise and discharge your duties appropriately and work closely with the Head of Customer Service South.

This role will involve working a mixture of weekdays and some weekends, including on call duties, so you must be fully flexible in your approach to your working week.
