We have a fantastic opportunity within our Marketing team, for an Online Marketing Manager, This position is based at our Colchester Hub, with the flexibility to also work from home

The Role

As an Online Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for managing the company websites (desktop, mobile, app), and optimising the user experience and conversion rate to drive revenue and improve customer satisfaction. You will manage several key online supplier relationships to ensure passenger satisfaction is maximised at all stages of their digital journey, whether they are seeking GA information, content, or buying a ticket. 

You will also work closely with the wider Commercial Development team to ensure you understand the needs of GA’s various passenger audiences. This also involves supporting Revenue, Retail, Customer Experience, IT, and project teams in achieving their objectives.

Your key accountabilities will include regularly monitoring all customer feedback for online channels, to ensure the user experience always meets the needs of those travelling by rail. You will be working in close collaboration with the marketing team to ensure site content and landing pages are aligned to the online search funnel, and optimised to aid campaign, delivery, and conversion, while ensuring the website is optimised (and not compromised) for SEO and conversion of other traffic sources.

Your duties involve managing key supplier relationships with the Web Developer and the WEBTis provider (Trainline) and other ad hoc development specialists to ensure contractual, strategic and revenue goals are achieved. You will meet regularly with relevant Abellio Group colleagues from Head Office and other TOC’s engaged in channel shift and driving online sales to share best practice and develop benchmarks.

The successful colleague will be able to Identify requirements for new functionality and innovations to drive channel shift that increase passenger engagement, improve their satisfaction and aid conversion. You will then work with relevant colleagues to build plans; project manage their delivery and test new functionality before going live where required.

You will be required to work with and support the Marketing Executive with the day-to-day content management of the website and social media

What we are looking for

We are looking for a colleague who has online marketing/ e-commerce experience. The successful colleague will have demonstrable skills gained working in high performing eCommerce teams, encompassing conversion optimisation, multi-channel, micro targeting, personalisation and content planning.

You will have had exposure to a digital transformation programme project, in a multi-channel retailer or service business, and have experience of implementing online testing strategy, and be comfortable with key user experience techniques (wire framing, prototyping, etc.)
