Abellio London Bus operates bus services across London on behalf of TFL, plus rail replacement and event services across the UK. We operate over nine per cent of the London’s bus network, running 800 vehicles and employing around 2,700 employees across six depots in Central, South and West London. We run a number of routes, carrying over 150 million passengers a year on TfL’s contracted bus network.

 

Duties include:

  • Manage all wet and dry stock across Abellio London to ensure that their holding and use is appropriate and in line with agreed budgets/forecasts and consumption levels.
  • Audit all stock holding on a regular basis to ensure risk of stock loss is minimised/eliminated.
  • Manage PPM process and non-PPM parts consumption ensuring Abellio London optimises the contracts in line with the SLA.
  • Assist the Group Procurement Manager and the Finance Business Partner in managing effectively all supplier contracts and vendor relationships.
  • Assist the Fleet Managers in the creation of their budgets and forecasts for materials and relevant depot nominals. Deliver and manage the agreed budgets through regular monitoring and analysis and intervention or reforecasting where agreed with Engineering Director.
  • To ensure that all relevant policies and procedures, namely Engineering, Health and Safety, Security and Environmental processes, are managed and upheld by regular review and monitoring, and where shortcomings are identified these must be addressed via the correct channels.

All candidates must have:

  • Excellent understanding of the road passenger transport sector, including all relevant legal and external regulations and requirements.
  • Excellent working knowledge of all daily site procedures, engineering processes, health and safety Regulations, DVSA standards (for parts quality), and people management practices.
  • Excellent understanding of stores and stock holding processes and the necessary protocols and standards required to manage them effectively.
  • Flexible approach to working hours and able to attend out-of-hours where required.
  • Experience of managing, developing, leading and motivating staff to produce high quality work.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Operations, Performance, Engineering colleagues and external stakeholders (i.e. suppliers).
