West Midlands Trains has an exciting opportunity for a Fleet Contracts Manager to join our Engineering team based at Birmingham Head Offices with depot visits, on a Full-Time Permanent basis.

Purpose of the Role:

To manage the Class 730 fleet and the maintainer to deliver clean, safe, reliable trains for passenger service to meet the needs of West Midland Trains (WMT) and the train maintainer.

Key Responsibilities:

• Mobilise the Train Service Agreement (TSA) to cover WMTs obligations and ensuring that Alstom deliver their obligations.
• Manage the day-to-day requirements of the TSA on behalf of WMT. 
• Manage contracts for third party stabling and servicing locations
• Responsible for driving up performance and extracting the maximum value for money from the TSA contract within associated budgets.
• Managing the safety obligations of WMT. 
• Authorising payments to the maintainer under the TSA.  
• Reviewing and arranging approval of any proposed variations to the TSA along with any business case justification for Exec approval.

Experience and Knowledge required for the Job:

• Sound knowledge of commercial contracts and financial awareness
• Preferable to have extensive knowledge of complex leasing and maintenance contracts
• Experience in management and negotiation of large contracts
• Experience of working with legal advisors and instructing legal advice
• Ideally educated to degree standard
