We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Client & Industry Relations to join our Franchise & Programmes Team. This is a full-time position at Executive Grade, based at One Stratford Place. This position will report directly into the Franchise & Programmes Director.

Role Requirements:

As the Head of Client and Industry Relations, you will be responsible for the expert commercial leadership of all key industry contracts, specifically acting as the single point of contact for all contractual matters with the DfT, but also ensuring that the GA business is providing appropriate commercial management of other key industry contracts such as those with NR and ORR.

The role will ensure that the outputs delivered by these contracts, deliver optimal customer and commercial benefit for Greater Anglia, and will lead the change activity from the current ERMA contract to the future state DfT contract, working with colleagues to ensure the production and execution of a clear transition plan.

You will provide advice and recommendations to the Greater Anglia Director team on any issues/escalations and coordinate appropriate input from the GA business. You will attend appropriate industry and shareholder forums and ensure appropriate communication on relevant matters to wider GA business.

You will lead and manage the Franchise team, be responsible for review, management and development of the team, as well as work alongside the Programme Management Office (PMO) to ensure application of appropriate Risk Management and Change Management on all relevant areas.

Experience, Knowledge & Skills required:

Experience:

The ideal applicant will have extensive experience of railway industry, ideally in the commercial management of train operations delivery. Experience in solving complex commercial problems that may affect the delivery obligations of contracting parties.  You will have experience in developing solutions to ensure delivery obligations continue to be met.

Knowledge:

Relevant degree level or equivalent academic qualification (desirable)
Substantial practical knowledge of contract management
Working knowledge of risk management processes

Detailed knowledge of railway industry structure and the contractual matrix within to operate passenger rail services

Skills:

You will have well developed interpersonal and communication skills, as well as strong negotiation skills.

Excellent relationship and stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to influence at a senior level and manage external contractual relationships. A proven team player with people leadership, management and development skills
