We are looking to recruit an Operational Readiness Support based at our Head Office, Birmingham to assist the Operational Readiness Lead to plan and coordinate a range of operational activities associated with the introduction of the new class 196s and 730s. You will act as the interface between the project teams and the WMT and external functions. In addition you will assist with the preparation of all operational processes and documentation required to support the introduction of the new trains are in place appropriately assured.
The role will give you the opportunity to travel within the UK to WMT locations across the network and build relationships to ensure the success of the project and identify and mitigate any potential risks and problems at an early stage.
You will bring with you the following skills and experience:
- Experience of the processes involved in implementing the introduction of new traction types
- Understanding of railway operational roles and their interdependencies
- Experience of managing interdepartmentally to achieve goals
- Good attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure
- Experience of the processes involved in implementing the introduction of new traction types
- Experience of managing interdepartmentally to achieve goalsboth written and verbal)
- A self-starter, with the ability to ‘hit the ground running’
- Highly organised, flexible, able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
