Maintenance Control Manager – Duddeston

West Midlands Trains are now recruiting for a Maintenance Control Manager working with supporting WMT operational colleagues with management of the operation Railway when faults and failures occur.

The Role
In this challenging but exciting role you will be managing the relevant West Midlands Trains fleet performance in real time, interfacing with the relevant Control, Operations and Engineering personnel, including Station Technicians and depot staff.

Providing technical advice in real time to traincrew and report all known defects into the relevant system, feedback extensive details of faults and failures to maintenance locations and the relevant personnel via fleet system(s) and assist with the root cause analysis of failures.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have the following:

• Essential Sound knowledge of railway operations, with a technical understanding of traction and rolling stock
• Strong leadership and management experience
• Qualifications: A vocational engineering qualification and experience Management training qualifications or equivalent experience
• Behavioural Sound knowledge of, and compliance to rules and regulations
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Capably of working in stressful environments for long periods of time
• Desirable Good IT skills – typically Word, Excel, Nexala
• Previous experience of using TRUST
• Previous experience of working in operational railway control rooms would be advantageous
