We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Asset Management team as a Principle Designer, based at One Stratford Place.

The purpose of this role is to develop and deliver the Principle Designers role as required, for all our worksites, under the control of Greater Anglia. To also provide regular formal, and informal, reports to Senior Managers on contractor performance.

Key Accountabilities

The successful applicant will act where necessary, as the Principle Designer for all projects managed by the Asset Management Team, you will work with the contractors to establish an effective relationship supporting effective delivery, performance measurement and management of projects. You will work with the Project Managers & Site Managers to establish an effective relationship supporting effective delivery, of the site inspection and audit programmes.

You will be involved in cooperating with accident investigations and identify and implement quality and efficiency improvements initiatives. Lead and inspire the team to maintain full engagement in meeting business objectives. You will manage and comply with company procedures to provide appropriate resources, communication strategies, training, competency and evaluate fitness of staff to safely deliver their accountabilities

Knowledge & Experience

Able to lead and motivate Asset management team members and contractors,

Able to step into individual projects within the programme if required,

Construction design management competence within a rail background,

Experience of Principle Designer’s role within a regulated industry (construction and/or rail industries),

Experience of project management / project safety management within a regulated industry.

Knowledge or experience of audit and inspection role in the construction or rail industry.

Accident Investigation experience [preferred].

Knowledge of the application of the PD’s role to construction projects.

Knowledge and understanding of programme and project management process and support systems and contract management.

Knowledge of the principles of Health & Safety legislation, environmental and best practice.

Knowledge of IET Wiring Regulations 17th / 18th Edition
