An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Controller in our Rail Replacement Team, based in Tyseley, Birmingham. The successful applicant will assist in coordinating and managing the rail replacement activities for West Midlands Trains.

The Role:

• Based within WMT’s Control Room the Controller will arrange road transport at times when the train service is disrupted. Please note that the post may relocate from Tyseley to either Rugby or Saltley in the next 12 months.
• Responsible for the quality of our customer-focused response
• To provide efficient and effective administrative support
• Work effectively with external suppliers and colleagues
• Have a duty of care for the health and safety of yourself and your colleagues at all times, including a duty to report unsafe acts or omissions to safety
• To undertake any other duties commensurate with the role.

The Candidate:

• An individual who can develop effective working relations with suppliers and colleagues
• Can handle high pressure situations in a calm and logical manner
• It will be desirable if applicants can demonstrate previous experience administering logistics or passenger transport
• The posts involve shift-working on a 4 on, 4 off rota basis covering Day and Night shift patterns
