Trainee Depot Drivers - Ilford, Southend, Colchester, Clacton and Norwich

Our Train Service Delivery department is integral to the smooth running of our trains and we currently have opportunities for enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals to join the team as trainee depot drivers.

Role and Accountability:

Based at one of our five depots, you will cover a wide variety of duties including the preparation, marshalling and disposing of vehicles at your depot, coupling and uncoupling and re-marshalling trains, depot driving, shunting and reporting any irregularities, faults and movement problems.

You will work an average of 35 hours per week, and shifts are over a 24-hour period. The role will involve early starts, late finishes, weekend and bank holiday working.

Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications Required:

Able to work well on your own, you will be an excellent communicator, comfortable dealing with both customers and colleagues alike. An organised individual with excellent concentration and attention to detail, you will have the willingness to accept the high level of responsibility associated with this role and the ability to work effectively.

We believe if you have the right behaviors and attributes we can do the rest, as we will provide the training in order for you to be an effective part of our community working as a Depot Driver.

Please note that you will not be permitted to take annual leave in the first six months of training.  You must also live within 45 minutes of one of our Depot.
