An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Out-Station Technician to join our Engineering team based at Birmingham Snow Hill.

The Out-Station Technician will support the depots in fault finding, attending in-service defects, riding trains to ensure engines, underframes and electrical system fault diagnosis is carried out to maintain reliability. Other duties include carrying out the maintenance, repair, overhaul and modification of West Midlands Trains and contracted TOC’s rolling stock to specification.

Our ideal candidate will possess:

Completed appropriate apprenticeship or hold relevant qualifications in electrical / mechanical engineering as specified by current company policy
Knowledge of West Midlands Train maintained rolling stock (be prepared to undertake appropriate training)

OTMR Analysis experience

PC / IT literate (Job specific training provided)
E2 Competent
Road Vehicle driving licence and authority to drive Railway Service vehicles
Emergency First Aid (Compulsory)
PTS / Designated Person Trained (if required)
Power Plant equipment trained

This role involves shifts and weekends and you will be required to wear uniform. All successful new entrants will be required to undergo a criminal records check, Right to Work verification, referencing and full medical assessment including a drug and alcohol screen.
