Station Supervisor

We are looking to recruit a Station Supervisor to join our Customer Services Team at Cambridge.

Role and Accountability:

You will be the person in charge in the absence of the Station Manager and / or deputise for them as directed and appropriate. Record, manage, confirm, rationalise and relay train service information and other Operational / Retail  information (including the use of CCF, P2, TRUST, CIS (LICC GUI) and PA announcements) and to ensure as far as possible, the efficient operation of train services and to support the discharge of Operational / Retail responsibilities.

Process Operational / Retail documentation, which may include keeping records on computer, faxing, E-Mailing, posting such information as required. Such documentation may include Station log,Punctuality and Reliability information (including daily initial responsibility table information), Accident & Incident Reports and Evacuation Reports.

Ensure that all train services are dispatched at the booked times and keep delays to a minimum. Participate in personal train dispatch competency assessment and maintain certified competency. Refer to operating notices / engineering notices with regard to train service alterations, in order to limit disruption as a result of engineering work as far as practicable.

At all times, pro-actively cooperate with other staff and all other internal / external interfaces to meet safety requirements, the needs of our customers and the business objectives of the Company. Be familiar with rail products and services and as far as possible, provide assistance to our customers in respect of any inquiry about rail products or services.

Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications Required:

It is essential that you have previous experience and knowledge of Passenger Timetables and Working Timetables, Engineering Notices, Arrival and Departure Platforming at Cambridge and Modular Rule Book. You will also have working knowledge of the Network Rail East Anglia Sectional Appendix, Weekly / Periodical Operating Notices and Location Specific Train Dispatch Method Statement.

You will be required to undergo periodic competency assessment for train dispatch duties and also undergo periodic fitness assessments according to age.
