Abellio Operations are recruiting for a Driver Support Supervisor to predominately work out of the Hayes and Southall Depot, with requirement to work at other locations as required. The role will involve introducing, supporting and nurturing new drivers into the depot environment and Abellio way of working. You will be responsible for delivering high quality depot inductions including meeting the local team, depot & vehicle familiarisation, route learning, skills practice, assessments and monitoring the City & Guilds qualification tasks. You will then be the point of contact throughout the probationary period providing support and guidance to the new driver, along with conducting informal probation review meetings. Working closely with the training team you will support the new driver through the C&G qualification ensuring that all self-reflective tasks and driver observations are completed and recorded. Additionally you will be trained to support existing drivers to undertake practical corrective training.

 

This role will contribute to the success of Abellio London by ensuring we have top quality, safe drivers joining our business and for existing drivers a focus on continued learning. Your role will help to make us market leaders for safety and customer experience as well as being a supportive company to work for.

 

The ideal person

 

Do you have excellent driving skills and enthusiasm for customer experience? Are you able to explain driving techniques clearly, give clear direction, tuition and in brief? Are you able to stay calm under pressure and provide feedback in a constructive way, advising about skills to be developed? Can you adapt your style to suit your audience? In emergency situations do you react promptly and safely?

 

The successful candidate will need to have:

 

Excellent knowledge about vehicle checks

A minimum of three full years bus driving experience

A full & clean driving licence – no points

A clean record for driving standards – i.e. no avoidable collisions, poor driving assessments or complaints about driving for 2 full years

Good standard of computer literacy in MS Office packages
