We have an exciting opportunity for an Interim Senior HR Advisor to cover maternity leave for a period of 12 months to join our busy and demanding HR team. We are looking for candidates who can bring new ideas and ways of working to help the team achieve its objectives.

The Role

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be pro-active, solutions focused and will have the initiative and drive to make things happen.   

Reporting to the HR Manager you will be responsible for the effective management and tracking of ER cases, attend all appeal hearings with senior managers/directors and provide guidance and advice in accordance with employment law and company policies; manage the full recruitment and selection process for all non-driver vacancies.

Key accountabilities will include:-

  • Attending appeal meetings with senior managers/directors and providing specialist advice and guidance in line with employment law and the Company’s HR policies and procedures.
  • Overall responsibility for the management of Employee Relations cases including arranging meetings, sending correspondence, managing and updating the case tracker, creating accurate electronic ER bundles for cases.
  • Create and distribute the “People Matters” HR bulletin covering various people related topics.
  • Managing the full recruitment process for all non-driver vacancies through our Applicant Tracking System, including:- drafting/advertising adverts, reviewing and compiling interview questions, attending interviews, issuing on-boarding correspondence.
  • Arranging psychometric recruitment assessments for potential candidates, providing reports and guidance to Recruiting managers on how to interpret the reports.  
  • Support the HR management team with ACAS and Employment Tribunal cases.
  • Support the HR management team with reviewing and updating policies/ procedures and template documentation in line with developments in employment law and best practice.
  • Overall responsibility for the general HR inbox.
  • Responsible for the setting up and governance of employee files.
  • Support the Head of HR in the compilation of the monthly people report.
  • General administrative duties including photocopying, scanning staff files, opening and distributing mail etc.

Experience of providing high quality HR advice, coaching, support and guidance to senior managers with the ability to manage a heavy ER caseload is essential.

Outstanding organisational skills are required and an ability to adapt ways of working to respond to changes in priorities.  An awareness of our customers and a resilience to provide excellent customer service under pressure is also essential. You will have the ability to create effective working relationships with a number of stakeholders, allowing you to influence and promote the people agenda.
