The Integrated Transport & Accessibility Manager will develop and deliver the company’s integrated transport and accessibility strategies (including the associated franchise obligations) under the direction of the Head of Corporate Affairs. The role champions and promotes best practice within the company with regards to integration with other transport modes and to station travel planning, and is responsible for developing partnerships with local authorities, transport operators and other partners to improve the end to end journey experience for all customers.

Key Accountabilities

Design and deliver WMT’s integrated transport and accessibility strategy in conjunction with key stakeholders in the WMT region and engage effectively with national forums to build best practice expertise

To develop, consult on and manage the adoption of an Integrated Transport and Accessibility Strategies for the business, based on existing best practice in the UK and Europe and deliver all the obligations within the franchise agreement relating to integrated transport on schedule and on budget.

To develop knowledge of legislation and best practice related to integrated transport and accessibility, and to effectively communicate throughout the business any changes to responsibility, policy and procedures brought about by legislation or changes to legislation.

To develop close working relationships with functional managers and directors to ensure that policy, procedures and best practices pertaining to integrated transport and accessibility are disseminated and upheld.

To develop and deliver West Midlands Trains’ programme for station travel plans to meet franchise obligations, and to negotiate and lead the partnerships, including funding, required to deliver all phases of each plan in a timely manner.
