West Midlands Trains have an exciting opportunity within the Fleet Contract Management Team to join us as a Production Manager (Siemens contract). The role will provide professional engineering support for the management of the maintenance contract with Siemens. In this role, you will be responsible for working with Siemens to ensure the fleet meets its targets for availability, operational safety performance, passenger environment and reliability, whilst minimising costs to West Midlands Trains.

Key Accountabilities

  • Protect West Midlands Trains interests in support of the management of the Technical Support, Maintenance and Spares Agreement with Siemens.
  • Work with and Siemens to understand the most proactive and efficient processes to ensure maximum availability and reliability is achieved.
  • Working closely with key Siemens personnel from both a technical and production perspective.
  • Introduce, develop and monitor appropriate KPIs to measure the fleets safety and technical reliability performance.  Analyse statistical information and provide recommendations to improve technical and safety performance
  • Monitor Siemens plans (including modifications, maintenance and training) and ensure these are completed to ensure the safety, reliability and passenger environment scores of the Siemens maintained fleet.
  • Review the maintenance regime, including instructions, procedures and associated documents, to improve the cost effectiveness of vehicle maintenance for WMT developing business cases to support change.

​Our successful candidate will possess detailed technical knowledge of modern Electric Multiple Unit design, maintenance and operation and a comprehensive knowledge of fleet related rail industry standards and specifications.You will be fully computer literate and be an intermediate of Microsoft Office applications and rail industry systems including Word, Excel, Project, Power Point, BUGLE, Equinox, TRUST, Gemini
