Fleet Allocation Controller

An excellent opportunity has arisen within the Engineering team for a Fleet Allocation controller at Romford ROC.

Main Duties:

Meet the requirements for operational service, ensuring trains are correctly allocated or de-allocated. Safely allocate all units to the most effective diagrams in alignment with the maintenance plan, while optimising mileage and maintenance loads. You will build and maintain a schedule of stock deployment and ensure maintenance requirements of rolling stock are adhered to.

Plan and control delivery of units for maintenance, cleaning and repair activities for all rolling stock fleets. Develop and own a rolling exam plan for all maintenance activities including cleaning, while ensuring depot output and rolling stock deployment meets the requirements specified by the train service plan and company Quality Management System.

Plan the delivery of units with defects based on priority given and available capacity in liaison with the Fleet Planner. Provide a rolling scheduled plan to manage all defects, considering impact on the operational and engineering maintenance programme. You will be working closely with Operations Control Team and Network Rail to provide timetable required unit availability. Develop and implement contingency plans during times of service disruption, events or non-availability of rolling stock.

Provide support to the engineering planning team to improve/ design and develop processes and plans to improve the management of rolling stock. Provide support to the Operations Control Team under the direction of the Planning Shift Manager during severe disruption/CSL2.

What we are looking for:

At least 5 years’ experience in a planning role within an engineering, manufacturing or operational environment. Have knowledge of the geographical routes and stock types operated by Greater Anglia.

You must have an understanding of rolling stock scheduled and unscheduled tasks and an understanding of and assessed against the MS 20.9 / Defective On Train Equipment List (DOTE). You should also possess good knowledge of I.T systems, including Nexala, InforEAM, Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, P2 and GENIUS.
