We have an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Planning Manager to join us!

This role will largely consist of leading and owning the building and communication of the robust strategic fleet plans to facilitate all work on trains whilst ensuring that rolling stock availability is kept at a level to meet the requirements of the passenger train service. Planning will be second nature to you as developing input plans, disaster recovery plans, maintaining contingency plans, and lists of work as well as forward strategic planning will be an essential part of your role. Train presentation will also factor into this. You will spend all resources made available by the production teams. Included in this is the measurement and KPI production. Implementing KPI’s and ensuring that efficiency gains are identified and actioned will be essential.

Your outstanding communication skills will allow you to liaise with key stakeholders as well as support control, production and engineering teams and manage communications including publicity. As a true ambassador for the planning team your influential skills will help you lead effectively and you will continuously seek improvement in all aspects of your role.

Ensuring Health and Safety policy and procedures are implemented across the team while managing people consistently are a must. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe and continued operation of the fleet of trains as required by the operating timetable, whilst ensuring all maintenance obligations are fulfilled.
