We have an excellent opportunity within our Engineering team in Romford for a Fleet Planning Manager.
You will be responsible for the overall management of planned preventative maintenance and compliance, as well as the management of defective on train equipment and the rectification. You will be building, maintaining and issuing relevant engineering plans therefore excellent prioritisation skills and the ability to work towards tight deadlines is a must. You will also provide liaison to prioritise unscheduled defects arriving on depot, taking into account the impact on the operational and engineering maintenance programme. You will maintain consistent availability of the fleet and spend all resources made available by the production teams; Included in this is the measurement and KPI production. You will also be required to deputise for the Senior Fleet Planning Manager from time to time.
You will develop and issue the daily planned lists of scheduled and unscheduled work (LoW), considering all relevant constraints. You will develop and maintain reporting tools to monitor the plan and analyse performance. Your excellent communication skills will see you co-ordinate with the depot on the timing and delivery of failed units, ensuring the depots are aware of the incidents and that a rectification is required. With the ability to think on your feet you must be able to adapt the maintenance plans when circumstances demand whilst taking into account multiple factors. You will monitor service quality issues relating to fleet to ensure that faults are reported accurately to the depot to be rectified. You will highlight any potential safety related fleet incidents including the management of Fleet Safety advices relating to RM/RT8250. Please note due to the 24/7 nature of this role only applicants that are able to work shifts will be considered for this role.

Understanding of Railway operating rules, procedures, arrangements especially incident management
Basic Understanding of Rail industry performance management processes
Understanding of Rail industry control management including service recovery arrangements
Technical based background, ideally qualified to a HNC/HND level in an Engineering related discipline
Experience in a rolling stock background
Intermediate level proficiency in Word and Excel
Experience in coaching others
Ability to communicate effectively under pressure to a variety of levels
Safety awareness, understand safety management and recognise potential consequences of incidents
