An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced building surveyor working within a Facilities Management team. The suitable candidate will undertake a full range of Building Surveying duties and responsibilities to maintain and improve the company’s property assets, working within the framework of best value and the facilities team financial constraints

The role is to assist in ensuring that the asset management responsibilities for maintenance to GA stations, Depots and duties as landlords for commercial and residential tenants are upheld in line with legislation and quality standards.The position supports the Facilities and Property Manager in undertaking site based contractor management.

Central to this position will be to assist with ensuring that reliable, cost effective and sustainable hard and soft services are provided in accordance with industry best practice, proactively manage pre-works, post-works inspections, works variation requests, ensuring safety risk rating and input data related to works instructions into the company’s asset management reporting system and assist with the maintenance of the mechanical and electrical and the fabric elements of the estate including; reviewing proposed reactive or non-reactive works, PPM and attending site to assess damage and/or works in progress, analysing defects and reporting accordingly.

In addition the successful candidate will assist the Facilities and Property Manager (Facilities) with keeping expenditure in line with budget provision and consistent with the agreed strategy for the estate and manage contractor’s day-to-day maintenance issues, answer incoming enquiries from internal clients, the helpdesk, administrators and provide technical advice.

You will be highly proactive with the ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships across the wider business, with focus on the sharing of knowledge and best practice within the asset management team, ensuring that all contractors adhere to our safety standards and do not import risk onto the railway.
