We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Train Service Manager.

The ideal candidate will be a flexible, enthusiastic and hard-working individual.  Joining the Operations team in our Control room in Romford, this role requires an understanding of the operational railway and the processes used to manage the train service in real time, with a particular focus on the management of our EMU fleet, working closely with colleagues in the Fleet Planning team. This will include monitoring and recovery of services, information provision and management of the key contractual and performance interfaces with Network Rail.

Central to this position will be to manage and deliver a safe, punctual and reliable train service, making quick and effective decisions by communicating effectively across all levels of the business and with external parties. In addition to build and maintain a productive relationship with Network Rail counterparts and record accurate incident and train service management information by performing well under pressure and by working as part of a high performing team.

This role will operate a 3 shift system of early, late and night turns based on a 37 hour week. Sundays are outside of the working week but there is a commitment to work Sundays for which remuneration will be paid.
