We have an exciting opportunity for 2 Charge hands reporting to the Engineering Supervisor based at our Twickenham depot. The successful candidates will be responsible for the daily running of the 4 on 4 off running shift they are allocated to.

 

Duties include:

 

  • Assist Yard/iBUS and operational team during run out to ensure required daily PVR is met

  • Monitor service and respond to Road calls by allocating roadside engineer, engineering standby whilst liaising with iBus to maintain PVR

  • Arrange the afternoon runout service and ensure PVR is met constantly throughout the shift

  • Allocation of planned work load amongst the shift members, assist team during the shift with fault diagnosing of the unplanned work and planned work repairs

  • Maintain the 24HR sheet and check running repair record is filled out correctly throughout the shift

  • Check service inspection paperwork is complete and correct before vehicle is returned to service in accordance with Abellio O licence compliance requirements

  • Maintain an exemplary standard of Health and safety and good housekeeping practises

  • Hand over outstanding/incomplete work to the Night shift charge hand

  • To undertake other ad hoc tasks and activities as required by the business

     

All candidates must:

 

  • To want to lead and drive a shift forward to being a successful team, a flexible approach to working hours and be able to attend out of hours when required to meet service delivery

  • Able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and work in a collaborative manner

  • A good understanding of the road passenger transport sector, including all relevant legal and external regulation and requirements for the operation of Passenger Carrying vehicle.

  • Good working knowledge of all daily site procedures, engineering processes, health and safety regulations, VOSA standards, and people management practices.

  • Able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and work in a collaborative manner

  • Engineers NVQ Level 3/ City and Guilds PSV maintenance or IRTEC accreditation

  • Previous Supervisory experience is advantageous
