SCOTRAIL OPERATIONS MANAGER

HEAD OF ENVIRONMENT

THE ROLE:

Reporting to the Safety, Sustainability and Assurance Director you will provide leadership on environmental policy and strategy for ScotRail providing recommendations to the executive team on environmental and energy matters.  Ensure that environmental systems and practice comply with the compliance obligations.  Lead the development and delivery of environmental and energy targets to support the wider sustainability of objectives of the business.

THE PERSON:

Enthusiastic, reliable and the ability to work independently and well within a team.  Experience in senior management role, leading teams in a complex, dynamic environment and managing environmental issues.  Relevant degree or equivalent and ongoing training and development in environmental matters.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

A working knowledge of environmental legislation.  Sound working knowledge of structuring environmental compliance cases, programme strategies, plans and files in support of programmes.  Detailed understanding of energy management.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: 

Post covers 35 hours per week.

Reference Salary will be dependent on experience.

Selection process: Selected candidates will be invited to attend an interview. The final stage for successful candidates will be a medical examination and drugs/alcohol screening. Appointees must submit at least two satisfactory references, Disclosure Scotland clearance and complete a six month probation period. Training initially involves a five day Induction training programme including first aid and fire safety.
