Join Our Team as Duty Traincrew Manager at Romford ROC

The Role 

The Duty Traincrew Manager is responsible for providing efficient day-to-day support for the local managers. This will involve assisting in the compilation of weekly/daily rosters, as well as short term traincrew cover arrangements.  You will also deal effectively during service disruption, by liaising and collaborating closely with the Train Service Manager, local managers, and other depots.   

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee train service operations and ensure the welfare of on-duty traincrew colleagues.
  • Utilise the Dimensions system for rostering and payroll management.
  • Monitor traincrew attendance through the Dimensions system's attendance screen.
  • Respond promptly to any instances of traincrew not showing up for their scheduled duty.
  • Liaise with on-call managers in the event of safety of line incidents involving traincrew.
  • Prepare initial incident reports following safety of line incidents.
  • Arrange necessary ‘for cause screening’ after consultation with relevant operational management levels.

  • Have a friendly, approachable demeanour with the ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal communication as this role will require you to deal with safety critical colleagues on a day to day basis.
  • Are calm under pressure, able to think on their feet, and able to handle various situations
  • Possess a "can-do" attitude and enjoy working as part of a team
  • Have team spirit and bring your unique self to strengthen our team and foster a positive work environment
  • Are problem solvers, as the role will encounter many different situations, whilst always maintaining integrity
  • Have an understanding of railway operating rules, procedures, and arrangements, as well as an understanding of control management, service delivery, and recovery.
