GTR - Duty Controller

Transport UK Rail Replacement provides a specialist service to the UK Rail Industry when train services are disrupted by planned engineering work or emergency incidents. Our highly experienced rail replacement team offer a fully managed service for the provision of coaches, buses, small vehicles, and taxis.

The Role 

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new team of Duty Controller’s in our Rail Replacement Team, based in our London Control Room. The successful applicants will assist in coordinating and managing the rail replacement activities for GTR. 

 

Duties Include

  • Arranging road transport at times when the train service is disrupted 
  • Responsible for the quality of our customer-focused response 
  • To provide efficient and effective administrative support 
  • Work effectively with external suppliers and colleagues 
  • Have a duty of care for the health and safety of yourself and your colleagues at all times, including a duty to report unsafe acts or omissions to safety 
  • To undertake any other duties commensurate with the role. 

 

The Candidate

  • An individual who can develop effective working relations with suppliers and colleagues 
  • Can handle high pressure situations in a calm and logical manner 
  • It would be desirable if applicants can demonstrate previous experience administering logistics or passenger transport 
  • The posts involve working 12 hours per day, based on 4 days working and 4 days rest, covering Early, Late and Night shift patterns.
